To Extract Or Not To Extract: Dealing With Unwanted Smells Indoors

The problem of having to deal with cigarette smoke in buildings has now almost totally been removed although there is still the odd exception which requires attention but this problem probably highlighted the need for good extraction better than any other. The difficulty in removing the smoke of the cigarettes from the rest of the people in the room was a problem that caused a major annoyance to non smokers and a health scare to many others.

However the problems of getting rid of unwanted smells, gases and smoke from cooking and just changing the air is a problem that often receives to little concern and effort. There is plenty of advice that can be easily obtained from the good suppliers so take time and get the best advice and the best extractor fan solution for your problem.

Consider the standard room full of people laughing and talking in the local public house, just the problem of breathing causes a continual production of carbon dioxide. Somebody who has just been running will be sweating and there are the smells of the food and the drink as well as other smells. The only way to deal with this problem is to change the air on a regular basis. So often a door is propped open or the unit just relies on the draughts of the building replacing the used air. Proper extraction is essential for good health as well as personal comfort.

The fact that air is not replaced on a regular basis can cause severe problems to health. The problem with air replacement has in many places where people collect been made worse with the introduction of double glazing and close fitting windows and doors which whilst keeping the heat in also stop air replacement.

There are many simple extractor fans which will remove the air and fresh air will be drawn in elsewhere. Consider a standard 12" window extractor fan that will extract the foul air at a rate of 1100 cubic metres per hour, this will change the complete air volume in a room 10metre x 5 metres about every 2 to 3 minutes. This will make it possible to have a great atmosphere in the room at any time. The extractor fans are silent and have a shutter system that closes automatically when switched off and opens silently just after the fan starts. There is a heating problem as extraction of air can mean an extraction of heat but that can and should be compensated for.

With free delivery on some of the most well known electrical brands available, Lamp Post Electrical have provided extractor fans and other electrical supplies across the UK for the best part of a decade.
